Can't stop progress....
Progress in the last week..... drinking loads of water. Big deal you may say but in recent months ie 12 months some days I would be lucky to drink any water AT ALL, which is just bad bad bad. so for the last few weeks I have made sure that I am drinking at least 1.5 litres a day. It is making me feel much better generally BUT my biggest progress which I will post more about later this week is that I have not had ANY diet coke for almost a month!!!! I will fill you more in later this week

Grateful
I feel so guilty being in the doldrums when so so so many people in this city are really suffering, I mean really suffering. Some good friends of ours whose house flooded the entire bottom floor had just finished renovating their house and it was on the market to sell as they have bought a larger house elsewhere. Their house was gorgeous and sold within days but the settlement was not due to happen until march, so its needless to say the buyers have now backed out and they will now have to forfeit settlement on their new home as well as there is no way they can afford 2 mortgages, then not to mention that although they think they have the right insurance it will take ages to fix and replace what has been damaged and their house will be almost unsellable for sometime to come due to being in the flooding zone. Some property insiders say it will take maybe up to 10 years for real estate to recover in the areas that affected - 10 years!!!
So today I am grateful for my lovely home and all that I have in it, plus I make a solemn vow today I will never dread housework again.....

I must heart me
Yes, yes it has been too long I know but I went to a very bad place in november/december and just as I was starting to emerge from the black hole I was in , mother nature decided she wanted to flex her muscles and rained terror on the streets of Brisbane. I live in inner city Brisbane close to our normally nice river but thank god our house was spared of the havoc it played on so many others that surround us and also those who live on the west side. A few friends and their parents were not so lucky and a few lost everything except for a few treasured possessions.
Even sadder alot of people just outside of Brisbane lost their lives and have left devastated families behind. I pray for them. It has inspired me to start afresh and start to want to live a life that alot of people in these last few weeks fought tooth and nail to keep alive for themselves and their families.
Speaking of families I lost yet another potential little one in late November which in yet another crap kick in the (ample) guts it was the same week I would have been due to give birth had I not had an ectopic pregnancy in april. life sucks when shit like that happens and then you realise it is even more shit when you are still fat and out of shape and have spent so many $$ on frigging weight watchers and gym memberships.....damn damn damn. I know I have to do this otherwise I will die from it - pure and simple

Weigh in Wednesday
Lost 0.3kgs which is over 2 weeks which is not so great but I must keep going. The meeting was interesting today as they started explaining this new ProPoints system they will be converting to I was so surprised that so many people were upset about it. People were upset about having to buy all new books and that their old recipe books were becoming obsolete, the leader explained that they could use the old recipe books but convert the old points to the new ones via the internet etc but people were still not happy, especially over the points calculators - I mean seriously is it going to kill you to fork out an extra $20 for a new one, given as member you will be given all new folders and books with cutting edge information and food science included in them to start this new system. People were moaning about having to re-read and re-learn everything from scratch, um really is it a major problem if it re-kickstarts your weight loss again??
Some people I guess are never happy about change but I for one am looking forward to it as I have not exactly flourished under this current system.
The thing I don't get is that everyone sitting in that WW room was there because they were overweight and were unhappy about it so why bitch and moan about something that is going to help you get past what you seem to be doing that is making you , well, fat???
bring it on I say!

My 'Other' life has taken over this week....
Unfortunately I will have to skip my weigh in this week as I run an online business where I sew and hand make baby and kids clothes and sleepwear and I have a big market day on Saturday to kick off the festive season so I have been madly sewing and have been chained to my machine. apologies!
On the upside I have discovered more about this ProPoints new scheme for WW. Check out the link below as it is being launched in the UK this Sunday so surely Australia cannot be far behind!!! I hope so as apparently ALL fruit and Veg apart from potatoes will be 0 points!! yeay.

Exciting WW news
I just read an article in the UK's Daily Mail online newpaper about Weight Watchers starting a totally new system to their 'points' program called 'ProPoints'. Sounds interesting and I hope they bring to Australia as apparently it will be based on 'new scientific information'.
All fruit and vegetables will have no points as WW realised that people were swapping their fruit points for low fat choc treats which sounds ridiculous but I have to admit that I am guilty of doing that on occasion, sad i know and probably why I have only been losing only very small amounts each week lately. booooo. bring on the new system and read about it here.
